June 3, 2026

The Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requirement for the NBID Admin Portal goes live in one week, on Wednesday, June 10th. The information below covers what you should expect on conversion day.
What to expect on June 10th
The conversion will take place before 9am ET on June 10th with negligible portal downtime. At the moment of conversion, every Admin at your institution will receive a password reset email from support@nbid.com.
The URL for the portal does not change. After establishing a new password, you will sign in at portal.modernfi.com and be guided through MFA enrollment. You may register multiple factors for your log-in, including Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) and/or SMS. Once registered, you will use the verification code from your selected channel to complete sign-in going forward.

Single Sign-On users
If your organization is utilizing Enforced Single Sign-On to access the Admin Portal, no action will be required during the conversion process.

MFA for the Depositor Portal
MFA for the Depositor Portal remains optional and configurable per institution, and will follow the Admin Portal rollout no later than the end of June. If you would like it enabled for your customers, or if you have any questions on this process, please reach out to your Regional Director.

NBID LLC is not a bank. Deposit insurance covers the failure of insured institutions, not NBID. Deposits are placed at FDIC-insured network institutions and are eligible for pass-through insurance up to $250,000 per institution. Certain conditions must be satisfied for “pass-through” FDIC deposit insurance coverage to apply. A list of participating banks appears at nbid.com/bank-list.
